St. Louis County Mother Arrested and Charged After Friend Reports Severe Child Abuse

A 26-year-old mother, Alease Chambers, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a harrowing case of child abuse uncovered by a concerned friend. On February 18, 2025, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Chambers with serious offenses, including Abuse or Neglect of a Child – Serious Emotional or Physical Injury, First-Degree Kidnapping, and additional counts of child abuse or neglect. The charges come after a witness reported alarming incidents of abuse occurring at Chambers’ home involving her five-year-old child.

The investigation into Chambers’ actions began on February 17, 2025, when a friend of the accused notified authorities about disturbing events witnessed during a visit to Chambers’ residence. The friend had stayed overnight at the home and witnessed the child being subjected to cruel and severe punishments. According to the witness, the child was forced to clench his fists while Chambers repeatedly struck his knuckles with a cellphone. In another instance, the child was made to perform wall squats for an extended period, far beyond what would be expected in military training.

The situation escalated around 3:00 a.m. when the friend was abruptly awakened by the child’s desperate cries for help, which seemed to come from downstairs. When inquiring about the child’s location the following morning, Chambers claimed the child was downstairs. However, when the friend went to investigate, she made a shocking discovery. The child was found zip-tied with his hands bound behind his back, his pants around his ankles, and his body covered in bruises and marks.

The friend immediately recorded the scene on video and contacted law enforcement. As the investigation progressed, authorities learned that the child had been locked in a closet overnight, with the door barricaded by a dresser. Medical evaluations of the child revealed signs of severe malnourishment, leading to his hospitalization. Interviews with the victim’s siblings further uncovered a pattern of ongoing abuse, with the child frequently subjected to beatings with belts, cords, and hangers. The child was also reportedly confined to the closet for extended periods.

During police questioning, Chambers admitted to using belts, cords, and zip ties to restrain her son as punishment for allegedly sneaking food. She confessed to leaving the child restrained for several hours as a form of discipline. The severity of the abuse and the emotional trauma inflicted on the child has left authorities shaken.

Chambers was arrested and is currently being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond, with no 10% option available. The severity of the charges and the details of the abuse have shocked the local community, highlighting the grave nature of child abuse cases.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. The case has raised significant concern regarding child welfare and the importance of community vigilance in identifying and reporting signs of abuse. The law enforcement agencies are committed to seeking justice for the victim and holding those responsible for the abuse accountable.
