Michael Kelly Cranston, RI Death and Obituary –  It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael S. Kelly, 42, of Cranston, Rhode Island, who tragically passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Surrounded by his loving family, Michael’s untimely death has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a dedicated public servant, a beloved husband, a devoted father, and a cherished friend.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Michael was the cherished son of Shawn and Cheryl (Grimes) Kelly of Warwick, Rhode Island. He was a loving husband to his wife, Natasha (Calcagni) Kelly, and a proud father to his two young daughters, Sofia Rae and Mila Jo Kelly. Michael’s family was at the center of his life, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his day-to-day life.

Throughout his career, Michael dedicated himself to public service, working for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (DOT) as a highway maintenance operator. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community made him a respected member of his team and the wider community. Prior to his role at the DOT, Michael built a successful career as an account manager at North Eastern Tree Service. His professionalism and ability to build strong relationships made him a trusted colleague and a highly regarded figure in his field.

Michael’s dedication to his career was matched only by his devotion to his family. He was a true family man who cherished spending quality time with his wife and daughters. His love for family extended beyond just his immediate relatives; he was deeply involved with his extended family as well. Michael is survived by his wife Natasha, his daughters Sofia and Mila, his parents Shawn and Cheryl, and his extended family, including his two sisters, Tina Mello and Alicia Blanchette. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Wesley Mello, Jay Blanchette, and Massimo Calcagni, as well as his nieces and nephews, who will forever remember him with love. Michael was also the grandson of Fran Kelly of Coventry and the late John W. Kelly Sr., as well as Paul and Shirley Grimes.
