Neil Eddie Caudle Death and Obituary – Eddie Caudle, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of the Bendena, Kansas community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 55. His death marked the end of a life deeply devoted to his family, faith, and community. He passed away on the family farm where he had spent much of his life—a place that symbolized both his hard work and his dedication to the land he loved.
Born on November 17, 1969, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Neil was the son of Roger and Donna (Ricklefs) Caudle. He grew up on the farm in Bendena, Kansas, where he developed a lifelong connection to agriculture and cattle farming. Neil’s love for the land and its rhythms became the foundation of his character and work ethic, shaping him into a respected member of the local farming community.
Neil’s education was just as integral to his story. He attended Midway Denton High School in Troy, Kansas, where he was known for his leadership and teamwork on the school’s state championship-winning football teams. Graduating in 1988, Neil continued his education at Kansas State University, where he earned a degree in Agronomy in 1992. His time at K-State also introduced him to his future wife, Mlle Brocaw, whom he married on July 10, 1993. Together, the couple took over the Caudle family farm and raised three children.
Alongside his farming duties, Neil remained active in his community. He served as an Ag Rep and Director for the Bendena State Bank, where his influence and dedication to local agriculture were felt. His leadership in both his professional and personal life helped to shape the future of the Bendena community, leaving behind a legacy of service, kindness, and commitment.
Faith was another cornerstone of Neil’s life. A lifelong member of the Troy Christian Church, Neil served as an elder for many years. His deep faith and trust in Jesus provided him with the strength to endure the hardships of life, including his brave 20-year battle with brain cancer. Neil’s faith not only shaped his personal life but also influenced his work in the community, where he was known for his generosity and unwavering support of others.
Neil’s greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, often spending his mornings at the local coffee club and working alongside his son, Brandon, on the farm. Neil’s pride in his family extended to his grandchildren, and he found immense joy in watching them grow. His love for Kansas State University was also a well-known part of his life. He was a loyal supporter of K-State athletics, attending games and proudly wearing purple to cheer on his team.
Neil is survived by his loving wife, Mlle; children, BreAnne (Jarrett) Pitman, Brandon (Chelsea) Caudle, and Calli (Alec) Richie; and grandchildren Beckett Pitman, Nora Caudle, Drake Richie, and baby Baylor Richie, who is due to be born in April. He is also survived by his parents, Roger and Donna Caudle, two brothers, Jeff (Tracie) and Todd (Kamille), and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dale and Lois Caudle, maternal grandparents Eddie and Alma Ricklefs, and his infant brother, Brian. His legacy of love, faith, and hard work will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A funeral service to honor Neil’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Troy Christian Church in Troy, Kansas. A graveside service will follow at Moray Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions in Neil’s memory may be made to the Troy Christian Church or Moray Cemetery.
Neil’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Bendena community. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
