Born on November 28, 1966, Lisa was the devoted daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Filipczak. Her life was a testament to faith, family, and education. She was the cherished wife of Brian Hackett, with whom she shared a beautiful life rooted in mutual respect and joy. Together, they raised three children — Katie, Maggie, and Danny — whom Lisa supported with boundless love and pride. Her role as a mother was central to her life, and she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and celebrating her children’s journeys.
Lisa’s extended family was equally important to her. She was a dear sister to David Filipczak and Laura Pitsoulakis (George), and a beloved sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin to many. Her presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and laughter, and she always found ways to make each person feel seen, heard, and loved.
Professionally, Lisa devoted over three decades to shaping young minds through education. She began teaching at St. Denis Catholic School in 1990, continuing at Hurley Elementary and later Ashburn Community Elementary School, where she taught until her passing. Her classroom was more than a place of learning — it was a space filled with encouragement, structure, and heartfelt connection. Lisa was known for her ability to uplift her students and colleagues alike, instilling not only knowledge but also compassion and resilience.
Lisa was also a woman of deep Catholic faith, which she carried with grace in every aspect of her life. Her strong moral compass and commitment to serving others made her a role model to many. Friends and coworkers admired her infectious smile, generous heart, and unwavering dedication. She formed deep, lasting bonds with students, fellow educators, and parents, many of whom credit Lisa for inspiring them in profound ways.
