Adrian Service Hartford Death and Obituary – A tragic two-vehicle crash in Hartford on Sunday night, October 19, 2025, claimed the life of 25-year-old Adrian L. Service, a resident of Hartford. The collision occurred during a high-speed incident involving a fleeing motorist who was attempting to evade police. Authorities confirmed that the second driver, 34-year-old Jammie Martin, also from Hartford, later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, October 22.
The crash took place just before midnight near the intersection of Albany Avenue and Mark Twain Drive, a busy corridor in Hartford’s North End. According to the Hartford Police Department, officers had attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2009 Infiniti G30 near Garden Street due to misuse of license plates. However, the driver of the Infiniti, later identified as Martin, refused to stop and sped away at a dangerously high speed.
Recognizing the potential danger to the public, police quickly terminated the pursuit. Moments later, Martin’s vehicle lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and struck Service’s 2014 Ford Fiesta head-on. The impact was so severe that both vehicles caught fire upon collision.
Adrian L. Service, the driver of the Ford Fiesta, was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders described the crash as catastrophic, leaving Service’s vehicle completely engulfed in flames. Family members and friends have since expressed profound grief over his sudden death, remembering him as a hardworking and kind young man with a bright future ahead.
Jammie Martin, the operator of the Infiniti, was ejected from his vehicle during the impact. Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Martin succumbed to his injuries three days later on October 22, 2025.
Following the crash, Hartford Police investigators recovered a firearm and illegal drugs from inside the Infiniti driven by Martin. Authorities noted that the misuse of license plates and discovery of contraband further complicated the case. The Crash Reconstruction Division continues to investigate the sequence of events leading up to the fatal crash, including the role of excessive speed and vehicle control loss.
Officials emphasized that police had already disengaged from the pursuit before the crash occurred, aligning with department policy to minimize public risk during high-speed chases.
Residents of Hartford’s Albany Avenue area expressed sadness over the devastating loss of life and called for renewed discussions about reckless driving, police pursuits, and traffic safety measures. Both families now mourn the deaths of loved ones under tragic and preventable circumstances.
The Hartford Police Department is urging anyone with additional information or surveillance footage from the area to come forward to assist in their investigation.
