According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, four teenagers — Kerlos Toma, David Fakhory, Raafat Nassif, and Maximos Ibrahim — lost their lives in a devastating two-vehicle crash in South Nashville early Sunday morning, October 26, 2025. The tragic collision occurred on Mt. View Road near Asheford Trace and has left the community in mourning.
Details of the Incident
At approximately 12:45 a.m., Metro Nashville Police responded to reports of a severe crash involving an Infiniti G37 and a Jeep Renegade. Upon arrival, officers discovered the Infiniti severely damaged and its four occupants critically injured.
The Infiniti, driven by 17-year-old Kerlos Toma of Murfreesboro, was reportedly traveling southbound at high speed when it crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with the Jeep Renegade. Witnesses at the scene told investigators that Toma’s vehicle appeared to lose control moments before the impact.
Emergency responders transported Toma to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
Two passengers in the Infiniti, 17-year-old Raafat Nassif and 19-year-old Maximos Ibrahim, both from Nashville, were pronounced dead at the scene due to the force of the collision. Another passenger, 19-year-old David Fakhory from Nolensville, was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but was also pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The driver of the Jeep Renegade, a 24-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. His identity has not been released publicly.
Cause and Contributing Factors
According to preliminary findings from the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit, speeding was a major contributing factor in the collision. The Infiniti G37 was reportedly traveling well above the posted speed limit before it veered into oncoming traffic.
Police also confirmed that none of the four teenagers in the Infiniti were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators noted that the lack of restraints likely contributed to the severity of their injuries and the resulting fatalities.
Authorities have ruled out impairment at this time but stated that the investigation remains ongoing. Crash reconstruction experts are examining road conditions, vehicle data, and possible driver distraction to determine the full sequence of events.
Community Response
The sudden loss of four young lives has deeply affected the Nashville, Nolensville, and Murfreesboro communities. Friends, classmates, and families have taken to social media to share memories, express grief, and call for increased awareness about safe driving. Local schools have also announced that grief counselors will be made available to support students processing the tragedy.
Metro Nashville Police continue to urge drivers, especially young motorists, to observe speed limits and always wear seatbelts. Officials emphasized that many fatal crashes involving teenagers can be prevented through responsible driving behavior and proper restraint use.
As the investigation continues, the community mourns four promising young lives lost far too soon in a heartbreaking accident that serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of reckless driving.
